It's interesting that Will's National Debt graph shows a huge spike coinciding with the post-war Labour government funding the creation of a complete health and welfare system, social house building and industrial reconstruction through nationalisation. Equally interesting is that one of the lowest parts of the graph coincides with the recent 'irresponsible' Labour government - and the graph appears to be moving upwards right now. So does the national debt or indeed the deficit really matter? Discuss! |
