To be honest I don't really care whether he is electable or not. The Tories have already swung further to the right without the Lib Dems to check them and will probably do so increasingly, particularly if Osborne exerts more influence. Corbyn is anti-third runway and although I disagree on many of his policies such as Trident he has good green including pro-animal credentials. In opposition he could help temper some of the worst excesses of the Tory government (third runways, beagle farming, badger culling, fox hunting). I don't think our utilities are particularly great privatised so wouldn't have any problem about them being taken into public ownership with appropriate safeguards. None of the other three including anxious Andy come through with any distinctive personality or policies, are all third runway and pretty much 'Tory-lite'. |
