Well yes. That said I kind of get where Hattie Harperson was coming from, but the execution ended up being a spectacularly hamfisted fudge. She is right to say that part of the reason Labour lost the last election is because they weren't trusted with the economy, and they allowed the tories to paint them as the party friendly to those on benefits. If she'd had the courage of her convictions she'd've maintained her original position, however the howls from the left scared her off into this laughable compromise position. So, they end up pandering to their core vote, and the majority of the electorate (you know, the ones they need to win an election) think they're a bloody joke.
