| I recently saw what was supposed to be day surgery turn into a longer stay because of urine retention. Bladder scanners can be used to check what is happening - if the nurse concerned knows how to use it. I understand that this isn't always the case when you have a bank nurse. Just about everybody wants to get out of hospital as quickly as possible. You can't always expect temporary staff to know how to use all the different machines. |
