Why the 'welcome' drop in cormorant numbers? They are really a sea bird but came inland because of the drop in fish stocks at sea. Not long ago our reach of water along with the island opposite the London Apprentice in Brentford was thick with them, greatly depleting the native fish stock. That sort of inbalance is never a good thing. |
