"There is something deeply uncomfortable about public lynchings, or being tried and convicted in the court of public opinion. The allegations against these officials are just that, allegations. Nothing proven, and not a scrap of evidence. FIFA is a brilliant organization, who richly deserve the charitable, tax-free status that they enjoy in Schweiz. Their mission of world peace through lucrative TV rights, corporate sponsorship and occasional football has been a stunning success. I believe Sepp Blatter has exemplified tremendous leadership in moulding FIFA into a force for good. He's been treated with derision and contempt, yet has conducted himself with dignity and grace. Vive la FIFA." This is a wind-up right? Either that or you are seriously self delusional. Who else at the top of an organisation would declare that it's nothing to do with me Guv? The buck stops at the top, and given the Sunday Times investigation and the report by that lawyer and now this latest debacle, it is clear Blatter should go, ignorance feigned or otherwise is no defence. I hope EUFA take a hike and at last Blatter's bluff is well and truly called, the man is a disgrace and way past his sell by date. |
