I have been banging on about this for some years now, both on this site and elsewhere but, sad to say, the truth is your average homeowner is quite happy to see the value of their ‘investment’ go up and up each year and to hell with everyone else. They will pay lip service to how terrible it is but really have no insight to how this is changing the social fabric of London in particular. If I were in my twenties now I think I would be ripping up paving slabs and chucking them through the windows of the Housing Minister/ Local Authorities/Planning Depts /banks and whoever else has lead us to this desperate state of affairs. Depressingly, I see no happy ending in site. |
