| Right - the problem we have is our lack of skilled tradesmen and women, if we decide to leave the EU, a disaster waiting to happen in my humble opinion. Until we collectively remove our heads from our rear ends and give trades the proper recognition they deserve in our education system nothing will change. We have got far too hung up on the university route, which doesn't suit everyone but it is one that so many parents aspire to for their little darlings. We need proper apprenticeships for trades, not these two week, half arsed training courses that the government says are apprenticeships, they are not. Crest Nicholson were lamenting the lack of home grown tradespeople this week, so we'd all better hope that our Eastern European friends are happy to keep coming here, or else Cameron and co. can forget all their B/S about building houses. |
