The Conservative government has said it wants to expand the cruel and ineffective badger cull across England, and it plans to allow a Parliamentary vote to repeal the ban on hunting with dogs. Badgers, foxes and many other animals could be in serious trouble: decisions on both of these issues might be announced in the Queen’s Speech in just 9 days’ time. A lot of MPs in this new Parliament - including many Conservatives - oppose this senseless killing. Some MPs are yet to decide. Is your MP going to stand up for wildlife? They urgently need to hear that you want them to. Contact your MP today - let them know you oppose the badger cull and the legalisation of hunting with dogs. Ask them to protect Britain’s wildlife from terrible suffering. The Hunting Act banned fox hunting and other blood sports 10 years ago, and 80 per cent of British people think the law should stand. Legalising these brutal activities in the name of ‘sport’ would be a huge step backwards for animal welfare in this country. In the last two years, the government's misguided cull has killed more than 2,000 badgers. Urgent action is needed to prevent thousands more suffering the same fate.
