Unfair?. Anyone has the right to join a union - that is a right that has been fought for by many people of all political colours. Wether a union is strongly represented and effective in a particular workplace is down to the proportion of the staff that are members, how many members are prepared to back the union's decisions, and how well the management work with the union. Plenty of unions work together with management and get a good deal for the company and workers - of course that never gets into the news so people aren't even aware of their existence. |
