Probably an inguinal hernia? The most common sort. Should be a straight forward procedure. Worth Googling the so called Shouldice method pioneered in Canada. Operations last 35 to 40 minutes and are usually done under a local anaesthetic. They report a 0.5% rate for complications after surgery. |
