| See if it were me as a senior gadger in a local party I would encourage my member (oops members) to put up a nice but harmless candidate to be the next MP coz that way lots and lots of people can say, "ah, isn't she nice, i like her so she gets my vote", knowing full well that if my councillors are of the same party as me then we can carry on regardless with our agenda. Trouble is that would imply that i am treating my supporters/voters as stupid. Rest assured I won't be standing as a councillor coz i think i would struggle to get 10 people to say i'm a good person, ah, poor me. |
