Alan, we were there over Easter. There are hundreds of bars in SS, some brilliant some so-so. You need local expertise to find the best and avoid wasting time. We joined a local walking pintxos tour one evening and it was totally fantastic. check out www.sansebastianfood.com and get yourselves booked on their evening walking tour which starts from the Hotel Maria Christina. If you can, try and get one that Lourdes is leading, a wonderful lady and lifetime SS resident. You get a superb tour of the very best places, plus a fascinating walking history of the place. And if you have a friendly group, make sure you end up at the Whisky Museum at the end of the evening. You will have a superb time, it is quite wonderful.
