You could just as easily claim that a LibDem vote is wasted locally if the voter's intention is to keep Labour from once again screwing up our national finances. All this talk of "wasted votes" from the two large parties comes across as an insult to the voter's intelligence. Anyone vaguely interested will be well aware that Ealing Central & Acton is a Conservative/Labour marginal, just as Brentford and Isleworth is. Some voters will therefore choose to vote for one or the other large party in the hope of influencing the result, while other voters will indicate that they prefer what is on offer from the LibDems, UKIP or the Greens by voting for them, even though they don't expect their candidate to win. You just can't trust Labour. |
