It is certainly not unheard of from either hospitals or doctor's surgeries, Maggie. This country has one of the lowest rates across Europe of curing certain illnesses, and it seems that is largely because in other countries they are diagnosed much more quickly. A dear friend of mine is now facing a major cancer problem, after pleading with her doctor for a year to send her for tests - he refused. If he had done it when she first asked her chances of survival would be a lot higher. |
