"Today is a bank holiday according to the government website: https://www.gov.uk/bank-holidays#england-and-wales" Strictly speaking, that site is wrong (and I've told them). Good Friday and Christmas Day are common law public holidays, not Bank Holidays. In practice it makes little difference, and signs on parking machines usually refer to "bank and public holidays". Robert Fish: "The High Road is controlled on Bank Holidays, whilst many of the roads off it are not." The rules are the same, I think. Yellow lines enforced, P&D and residents' bays free. |
