"As with Hounslow all that can be done is appeal to councillors and protest on reasonable grounds. Ealing has a lot of terraced houses with small front gardens." So does the Glebe Estate, but all reasonable appeals to the Council (Hounslow) were ignored. If you have a space (45 cm x 45 cm) in your tiny front garden that a wheelie bin could fit, then your property is deemed suitable for a bin, even if that space is right in front of the bay window! On behalf of the Glebe Estate Residents' Association, I tried everything possible, but we still had the bins imposed on us. I understand that these bins are welcomed by some, but they presumably have access to a rear garden where the bin can be stored out of sight. The Glebe Estate is terraced and we have nowhere to store the bins. One size does not fit all in Chiswick. |
