| No - his wife died and he moved away and I think he must have retired by now. He used to keep some wading boots at our house in case he got called on to walk up and down the Mall at night just before High Tide to warn us that it was 'imminent' through a loudspeaker. He sometimes called in for a cup of tea and an exchange of news - he was the perfect neighbourhood policeman. |
