Russell, every browser and operating system update will introduce new challenges and longer term there will be totally new platforms. Obviously there is a database of users for this site. I suspect you have misunderstood what you were told - the database of users is structured in a way that it wouldn't be compatible with off the shelf applications so they would have to build there own. They appear to be going the steampunk route of blending old technologies and new which is basically what every online operation that has been around more than 5 years and doesn't have an unlimited budget ends up doing. |
