I think Robert sums up how people wish to think in respect of such matters. The usual way of determining the truth of a matter is to inspect the evidence; but where the story comes from government and is distributed via the mainstream media, the idea of them having been massively duped, even when the evidence proves they have, is too much for them to bear, especially if it shows that the government has acted in a deceptive and/or evil manner. Their denial leads them to make excuse after excuse to protect their ill-founded beliefs, consistently refusing to even address the evidence and, instead, shout: “fool”, “idiot”, “loon” etc. to those that present the evidence. There are large numbers of these ignorant and weak people, and this is what allows governments to behave in such ways when, if we all stood up to it, we could, collectively, bring about change. |
