Please leave it out Richard (unless you are simply trying to rib me?) - Thatcher never argued anything along the lines you state and displayed only a seemingly virulent hatred of Germany based on WW2 and that their national character as a result was never to be trusted. This was supplemented by her other personal concerns that Germany's new power would lessen UK influence (especially with USA now under Bush not Reagan as President, as well as within EU) and that a united Germany would look increasingly to an alliance with the USSR, at that time still a communist power under Gorbachev.
