I have no wish to assume the task of defending everything that Ealing Council does, or does not do. Just to say that local government has had to implement very high levels of cuts, far more than central government. Yet, with some exceptions all the evidence is that people have high levels of satisfaction with their Councils and trust local government and their councillors far more than central government and their MPs. The levels of pay for senior staff is on the Ealing website, http://www.ealing.gov.uk/info/200687/council_budgets_and_spending/865/executive_pay, however in true Ealing style this information is two years out of date! Infact the number of senior staff will be fewer than listed. |
