Robin, these people are well known to people in the building trade. They call them skip monkeys and are very prolific. When our house was being refurbished last year, we had a skip outside.Nothing much happened with the building rubble, but within an hour of the old cooker being thrown on the skip, it had been taken. No one was seen, and considering our road is a quiet cul-de-sac, I find it remarkable the speed at which it disappeared. The same happened with the old boiler, but that took 3 hours to disappear.

BTW, Not wishing to be picky, but the tables being taken from o/s the Copper Cow was a theft, not a robbery.A robbery, is a theft where there is, or there is implied violence of the person. That doesn't make it any easier for the person that has had the tables stolen. If you report a robbery, the police will certainly turn out.If you report a theft, you will ba asked to go to report this at the police station unless someone was seen to commit the theft, and it has happened in the last few minutes.
