Well, I didn't die on the table so that's a bonus.I was in theatre fo 2 1/2 hours,watching everything the surgeon was doing on the monitor he kindly placed along side the table for me.He also gave me a running commentary on what he was doing while he operated.Instead of having a general anaesthetic, I had an epidural which deadened everything from the waiste down.I had surgery on both knees and didn't feel a thing,marvellous.I even have a film of the op.Although the effect of the epidural is working off now l have been wired up to a syringe driver to deliver morphine when it's needed.Nigel, yes I am in the Wellington.Very nice it is too.Unfortunately this wasn't the transplant I am waiting for, but at least I should be able to get around more easily after this.Thank you all for your good wishes and kind comments.It just goes to prove that forumers are very special people
