Yes, that's right.  The news report from this site is still available here.

Metronet closed a platform before they managed to get permission to alter a listed building.  But being listed hasn't prevented indicator boards being installed in other listed stations.  The problem at Chiswick Park seems to be LU's reluctance to spend money on the infrastructure before the signalling is renewed.
