It does sound a little limp wristed on the part of the structural engineer however it is probably not a bad thing to board out a section of the loft to give easy access to the water tank for future maintenance or emergencies. It should be a very easy job and purpose made strawboard sheets can be bought cheaply from the likes of B&Q. I don’t see why it would need to be a builder to carry out the work, any able bodied person should have no problem. (make sure the boards you buy fit through your loft hatch) |
