Good morning.

I want to have two internal walls in my flat taken down to combine my kitchen and a small adjoining bedroom. I hired a structural engineer (£395 plus VAT) to come and inspect the property to make sure the walls weren't load bearing. In his report he said that there are 'water tank(s)' which may be resting on the supporting walls, and that I need to get duck boards laid by a builder, and temporary lighting, to confirm. I would have thought this would form part of his inspection, and that he would pay the duck boards and bring a torch if needed. He said the roof space is inaccessible and unsafe, but over the past three years various roofers and electricians have been up there. Am I being unreasonable?
