| Easy to blame the Government but perhaps management should be under closer scrutiny. The organisation and price of the catering at Kew seems designed to encourage you to bring a picnic. Events at the gardens are very poorly marketed and I often notice them being flogged off cheap on Groupon - a sure sign of poor ticket sales and highly annoying to anyone fool enough to pay full price. We cancelled our direct debit for membership many years ago after being asked to pay for all our family after my wife forgot her membership card. I had mine. The way staff spoke to us was insulting. If we turn up at the Tate or the National Gallery without our card staff ask for ID and look us up on their computer. Those direct debits remain intact. |
