| Can't make the meeting but am very concerned about Kew Gardens future. Some of the facilities around the park leave a lot to be desired and revenues from them could be increased substantially if they were better organised and had better food. There could be more outreach to local schools - they seem to do very little in this regard. Marketing and promotion is poor. It has the feel of the work of an external PR agency - expensively produced but lazily distributed. More could be made of days when planes from Heathrow are approaching from the west - the gardens are truly blissful without the planes. They could introduce off-peak memberships for local people. And not something that will increase revenues but a bit more notice for local people when they are having a noisy concert or fireworks would be in order. |
