Sean, sounds like a Drayton TRV - the thermostatic sensor is in the head which you removed. When set to MAX the pin in the lower section of the valve should be fully up, as it should be with the thermostatic head removed. Leaving the valve set at MAX or removing the thermostatic head should keep the water flowing through the radiator. |
