Thanks Trudie, have tried that and I think there is just too much accumulated gunge down there for it to work, it needs a good clear out from someone who can cut round the drain cover to get it up, I don't think there is anywhere for it to go.  I'd rather have a recommendation for someone who doesn't charge a fortune as I gather costs vary widely.
