Send the rescued goldfish down to investigate before getting the plumber!

On a more serious note - you could try One Stop, Robert Dyas sell it but be very careful using it - it will melt almost anything in a drain but you'd have to be able to access the drain, don't think you should run this through the washing machine.  Have you tried running the machine on a boil wash without detergent but with possibly a washing machine cleaner or even a boiling hot very, very strong solution of well dissolved Soda Crystals?
