| To follow Richard's post it seems BBC TV re- started on Sunday 26/11/1945. So no TV for me. Broadcast started at 1500 and closed down after the news at 2200. (Sound only). Well it was a Sunday. Subjects were gardening, cricket, an unspecified film and a play by GBS. What's new? Rule Britannia! The BBC Third programme arrived after me on Sunday 29/9/1946. The BBC Home service when I arrived had only one programme lasting 60 minutes. All others were shorter. Sound bites were already fashionable? Music While You Work played during the afternoon. The BBC Light programme arrived Sunday 29/07/1945, so that missed me as well. |
