My experience was that at the Packhorse and Talbot they were letting pub regulars into the back of the pub for drinks and they could hear the music perfectly well and also kind of see the bands without paying. At The Old Packhorse you only had to pay for the band if you went into the back room so all the regulars could drink at the front and enjoy the band. At The Hogarth you only had to pay if you went into the bar area so I presume that the regulars could keep on working out (or spinning) if they wanted to without paying Oxfam. At The Tabard it looked like some of the regulars were getting in for free just for a beer but I am not sure. I'd paid for my wrist band so I could move around between the different venues to see the different bands. So, I don't see what all the fuss is about - sorry. It was a good event and not an enormous disruption. Joe |
