Russell

LBH (Traffic) were originally going to  consult only the roads who had submitted a petition for CPZ (i.e. only those residents who were likely to vote YES to a CPZ).

Other affected roads outside the planned extension area were NOT going to be consulted (i.e. the roads where residents were more likely to vote NO).

It's called a rigged vote.

My understanding is that a recent CAF meeting agreed that ALL ROADS are now "affected roads" and should therefore be consulted. This is why LBH quietly added the questionnaire for everyone to access.

Of course they didn't tell anyone they had done this, and it was only appended to the bottom of the story about the vicar asking for neighbours to love each other - which of course is exactly where any of us would go each day to check on the latest updates from the traffic department.

But the letter you have received from Armapal Soor demonstrates the absolute confusion that now exists. Even LBH Traffic do not know exactly what they have decided to do.

This confusion exists because the traffic department have tried to rush this extension through before the correct consultation process has run its course, and in doing so they seem to be tripping up over their own feet.

What I can tell you is that a number of councillors (Cllrs. Sam Hearne, Theo Dennison, and Richard Foote) are now looking very carefully into this and are giving a very strong impression that they will get to the bottom of the situation and sort it out.

For the time being, I think the best we can do is to leave it to those good gentlemen and give them time and space to come up with a solution. I do believe they have the best interests of the wider GP at heart.

Of course, in the meantime, we still need everyone in GP to print off and complete the questionnaires, and send back to Satnam Sahota at LBH Traffic. The more completed questionnaires he receives (by Oct 24th) the more representative the responses will be. Please, please, get as many people to respond as you can.
