Just an observation Manish, based on all I have read about Pakistan over the last five/seven years - the army (or armed forces) is not wholly the villain of the piece it is painted in many commentaries on Pakistan (though Benazir's father did run foul of them many years before and paid the ultimate price). The greater villains are Pakistan's Intelligence Service (notably the largest, ISI) whose endless meddling has led to continual playing off amongst the USA and Afghanistan interests endlessly. While involving a lot of ex-military personnel, they seem to operate very much as a separate and divisive force in Pakistani politics. |
