My animals were scared of the thunder so I was up during the storm cuddling all six of them - there was no way any of us could sleep given how loud it was and yes, the lightning was very dramatic, quite scary standing in the garden waiting for the dog to have a pee!  I read the other day that several people are struck by lightning inside their homes each year which previously I hadn't thought possible.
