We are not going to run out of power barring any major catastrophe. Generation surplus margin is forecast at a minimum of 8.4GW this winter (with week 42) the tightest. That means there is 8.4GW more generation capacity that forecast demand. That is not loads but quite a lot given the three nuclear power plants offline only total 2.3GW. It might be expensive though as some of that 8.4GW is oil fired. But there will be power. |
