Andy, telescope Kepler was only launched in 2009. this is the one which monitors light in front of stars to detect a feint wobble which might denote a planet in orbit. They have only found a few hundred so far but admitently in a very small area of the heavens, but your billions opening gambit might be a bit high. Best to look closer to home and see if they have been here for a while.. see my earlier post |
