You cant compare Netflix and Lovefilm by post. One is a streaming service and one is a DVD rental service. Two completely different products. Lovefilm however does have a separate Streaming service through Amazon Prime though in my opinion is more geared to films rather than TV and has a habit of trying to charge you extra for content in addition to the monthly subscription. Most of the shows you mention are shows which Sky have the rights to broadcast here so its not surprising that they are only available to (legally) stream through Sky. I personally would not call Netflix a con. It makes its own content which it needs to fund and is therefore the only place to watch the latest series of Arrested Development, House of Cards and Orange is the new black. Judging by the amount of Emmy nominations the last two programs received its a model that seems to work. I also believe it was the only place to watch Breaking Bad which was one of the most highly rated dramas of the last couple of years. It wont be many years till most of the content we watch on TV will be provided via subscription over the internet.
