Can I step in here and help clear up some confusion?  LoveFilm was a streaming and DVD rental business and DVD rental is still operates under LoveFilm brand but the streaming content is part of Amazon Prime Instant Video.  It's not just film and is currently showing TV shows such as:-
Vikings
Extant
Under the Dome
Mad Men back catalogue
Arrow
Revolution
Walking Dead
Orphan Black

All providers, including BBC, Channel 4, Channel 5 + online Netflix and Amazon + satellite BSkyB compete for these shows and the licence rights.

In interests of full disclosure, I work for Amazon Instant Video.
