Operation Northwoods was a series of false flag proposals that originated within the US Department of Defense (DoD) and the Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) of the United States government in 1962 as a pretext to invade Cuba. The proposals, called for the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), or other operatives, to: Start lots of rumours Develop terror campaigns in the cities of Florida and Washington Arrest Cuban Agents and find documents on them substantiating Cuban Involvement Mimic MIG aircraft and attack US ships and harass civil aircraft Organise hijacking attempts of civil aircraft Claim that a Cuban aircraft has shot down a plane full of college students. A plane will be painted and numbered to appear as being a civil registered aircraft, which will be substituted for a drone and crashed Create a scenario that will make it appear that Cuban MIGS have shot down a United States Air Force plane over International waters in an unprovoked attack Land Cuban (friendly) saboteurs inside the base (Guantanamo) Start riots near the base main gate (friendly Cubans) Blow up ammunition inside the base Start fires Burn aircraft on air base Lob mortar shells into the base Sabotage ship in the harbour Sink a ship near the harbour entrance Blow up a ship in Guantanamo Bay Create casualty list in US newspapers Conduct fake funerals for mock victims These proposals were put to John F. Kennedy in 1962, but he refused to go along with them, which angered his war-hungry generals and other top business leaders. He was killed a year later. The actual documents detailing the false flag psy-op proposals were declassified in April 2001 can be found at: http://www2.gwu.edu/~nsarchiv/news/20010430/northwoods.pdf |
