Just before I saw this post from Michael, I was reading a report about a co-ordinated online campaign which probably originated from the Kremlin. A series of identically worded posts from 'mothers' from various western countries appeared at the same time. These followed the line being pushed by Michael and he seems to have picked it up and run with it.
As with so much from Russia, it is projection. It comes at a time when mobilisation is being extended and is increasingly impacting the metropolitan areas such as St Peterburg and Moscow which had previously been relatively immune from being sent to the front line. Putin has been ethnically cleansing the eastern part of his country but people living there have worked out that signing up is a death sentence. Recruitment has been below the casualty rate for several months now and the Russian line is already buckling on parts of the front around Lyman.
Russia isn't going to war with NATO because it knows it would be crushed within hours. Your children won't be needed to achieve this. |
