| I remember my history teacher Mr Hawksworth saying that galley rowers werent slaves at all but were very well paid pirates and mercenaries. he said the man who bonged the gong was the best paid of all. For every slave he said there has to be a master and the pirates had no master. I wonder who the masters are today? |
