Firstly, very pleased to see the nature of the business opening on Southfield Road. A wine bar would have been nice but this is almost as good. I wish it every success. Having said that, when rumours started to circulate locally that it was going to be a wine bar, I spent some time checking the Ealing Council web site to find a related licensing application and couldn't find one. I also couldn't find a council notice relating to the application on a lamppost (the one opposite is for a planning application on Speldhurst Road). There is actually a page on the council's site for pending applications which another forum member kindly directed me to but it is not straightforward to find. While I will probably be a customer of the new shop, I can imagine some people living in the vicinity will have be cross if the first they learnt of it was in the newsletter denying them the opportunity to raise concerns or object.
