| The deep cleansing of our streets should be a welcome step from the Council. But why does it make it so painful and stressful for residents? We have to vacate our whole street and if we don’t, we’ll be fined, of course. But where do we move our cars to? The EC/1 residents parking zone is very small. The main arteries are Chiswick Lane and Devonshire Road and its adjacent streets are also in the zone. We have a faceless, impersonal council who don’t give a thought to law abiding citizens. Let’s raise some extra money! It’s quite ironic that the council chooses the time of year when our streets are at their cleanest. Last autumn, there was nobody to be seen… I despair. Thank you to our local councillors for raising the issue, even though, significantly, they have received no answer yet. We aren’t the only people to be ignored… A lifting of the boundaries between the residents’ parking zones would be welcomed. It has been done in the past. |
