It’s disappointing that top industrialist Ratcliffe is so ill-informed as to be wrong by a factor of many with most of the rabble-rousing figures he quoted for population numbers and people on benefit. Of all people, it’s Ratcliffe and his companies that have received hundreds of millions in ‘benefits’ from government grants, subsidies and loans. The snag is that people seem increasingly prepared to believe this ‘…swarming over here and taking our jobs and living on benefit…’ nonsense.
