Two years ago, we used a stonemason to remove the paint from the brickwork on the front of our building and to repoint it. Our building is typical of older ones in the area. Thousands of pounds and many months later, we thought we were stuck with a less-than-satisfactory result (discolouration from efflorescence and excessive use of water and chemicals).
