My first question is whether the Trust is honouring its charitable purpose by seeking to sell this property. The Charity Commission could well take an interest if it appears this isn't the case. The need for visually impaired people to be well housed certainly hasn't gone away, so how exactly does the sale further the interests of beneficiaries? If the property were purchased by another charity with similar objects this might be OK - ideally it should be a Registered Provider of social housing, to get real regulatory oversight. |
