| In the days that I went offshore sailing, our engineer said don't use the stuff. 3-in-1 oil, while versatile, can cause issues due to its tendency to gum up and its potential to damage certain materials. It's not ideal for some model engines or plastic components due to the gummy residue it can leave behind, according to some model engineering and train forums,. Additionally, it's not a long-term lubricant for some applications, as it can evaporate over time. |
